Heather Bates

I first discovered my joy of singing aged 7 when I became a member of Brambleside School Choir (despite my mum thinking I couldn't sing!). Since then, I have taken part in many concerts and competitions either as a soloist, as part of a duet or part of a choir. As well as this, I have undertaken seveal exams gaining qualifications that mean my mother finally realised I might be able to sing!

I enjoyed many years as a member of Masquerade Youth Choir, under the leadership of Barry Clark, before leaving to attend Loughborough University, where I studied Criminology. Fast forward three years and a graduation ceremony, I was back singing with Barry but this time as part of Belcanto, a choir that I am still a member of now.

I am pleased and excited to be taking on my first MD role with Seagrave Singers and hope to bring a sense of fun to rehearsals, not forgetting the hard work too!

I hope to see you all at future concerts, or even rehearsals if you are thinking that Seagrave Singers may be for you!
